Exec Regional meeting

Last month our deadly Exec of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people gathered for our annual regional meeting to discuss what is important to us and what the focus is for the upcoming year. Traveling from Naarm (Melbourne) to Yorta Yorta Country for the meeting, the team arrived to a beautiful Welcome to Country in Mooroopna organised by Neil Morris and Wulumbarra, followed by a visit to the Lin Onus exhibition and Kaiela Arts at Shepparton Art Museum before traveling onto Echuca for the meeting and welcoming our new Exec members. KYC was also fortunate to have Uncle Des Morgan come along to the meeting and share stories and his passion for the young mob in our communities.

Over the weekend our Exec and staff team discussed policy and advocacy, youth participation, Marram Nganyin Youth Mentoring program, the 2022 Koorie Youth Summit, staff recruitment and strategic planning amongst much more. It\’s going to be an exciting year, so be sure to watch this space!
